Social Security Fight to Go On

September 20, 2001

A coalition of organizations supporting Social Security privatization has vowed to press on with its efforts to reform the nation's troubled retirement program despite the tragic events of last week. As one member of the group noted, "None of Social Security's problems have gone away. The need to reform the program remains." Therefore, while some events and papers may be delayed, most oeganization expect to resume their efforts within the next few weeks.
