Black Chamber of Commerce, Cato Host Conference on African-Americans and Social Security

The National Black Chamber of Commerce
and the Cato Institute are teaming up to co-sponsor a conference on “African-Americans
and Social Security,” February 12, 2002. The one-day conference will examine
issues such as: whether the current Social Security system is fair to African-Americans;
How to increase savings and investment in the African-American community; and
whether Social Security should be privatized. Invited speakers include Robert
Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television and a Member of President
Bush’s Commission to Strengthen Social Security, Ohio Secretary of State Ken
Blackwell, and Jesse Jackson.
