As a general principle, I favor legislation that would increase the control of inviduals over their retirement funds. However, I do think that we owe a certain commitment to, say, the 55-year old who has participated in the system up to this point. Thus, I would tend to view changing the system more with regard to the 40-yuear olds and under, while simultaneously upping the retirement elegibility age.
