Social Security Privatization It's Your Money, Your Choice, Your Future

John Shimkus (R)

Yes, I support a comprehensive Social Security reform plan that would allow workers to voluntarily invest a small portion of their withholding taxes in a personal retirement account. Social Security must be strenghthened.

Congress has taken steps to lock away all Social Security surpluses, and this year removed the unfair earnings limit on retired seniors age 65 to 70.

Governor Bush's plan to allow retirees individual control of an account that would have the potential for a greater return on investment is one that I can support.
