Our first step must be to enact into law the "Lock-box" legislation passed by the House of Representatives that protects every penny of Social Security and Medicare money from being frittered away by Washington. Next, we should allow retirees to increase the return they may expect from Social Security taxes by letting workers invest a portion of their payroll taxes into individually directed retirement savings accounts.
