Social Security
I support a "lock box" to dedicate Social Security surpluses to the program's preservation and improvement. Preservation of Social Security and Medicare and national debt retirement are my top priorities for allocation of other projected non-Social Security budget surpluses. I oppose replacing the current benefits system with individual accounts. I support reasonable investment of a portion of Social Security trust funds in higher yield investments and the proposed "USA Accounts" to encourage personal retirement savings as a supplement instead of replacement for Social Security. I support the Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provision to make Social Security more fair to older women. I oppose raising the age to receive full Social Security retirement beyond 67.
