Social Security
I am opposed to any attempts to privatize Social Security. I will oppose individual savings accounts as a replacement for the current system. I also am opposed to raising the minimum age to receive full Social Security. I do support using part of the budget surplus to protect Social Security.
Specifically to address the problem of older women living in poverty in this country, I would support measures such as HR 1217, which will protect Social Security spousal benefits.
