Dunn Lampton (R)I believe Social Security is a social trust that must be protected and strengthened. I support a lock-box for Social Security so that all of the Social Security surplus can be set aside to strengthen Social Security without having it used on other programs. I support allowing workers to have the option of opening an individual private savings account for retirement because after all, Social Security comes directly out of their paycheck and they should have some control over how and where their money is saved. Because of the possibility of corruption and conflict of interest, I do not support the government making decisions about investing people’s Social Security funds without input from the individual. I believe steps must be taken now to ensure the government does not punish older Americans (baby boomers) whom in the future will work past the current maximum retirement age limit. |
