I wholeheartedly support allowing workers to save a portion of their payroll taxes in a personal retirement account. I believe the time has come to deal with this vitally important issue, allowing more personal freedom to create wealth. However, we must make clear to all who are depending on these benefits that will will protect and strengthen their retirement benefits and ensure that a safety net exists to provide for those who need it.
