Bill Redman (R)REFORMS FOR THE FUTURE Locking away funds will only protect the current Social Security System. The system needs common sense reforms so that future generations receive benefits that they are entitled. There are three schools of thought on reforming Social Security, supported by the Democrats:
I do not agree with any of these ideas. I would like to see some form of individually directed personal savings account. Future beneficiaries still have time to invest for their retirement. They should be empowered with the ability to safely invest in their future. These accounts would give them this opportunity. The biggest plus is that this approach will not alter the benefits of current recipients and no one will be worse off under this program. I am committed to ensuring a secure retirement for current retirees, future beneficiaries, and generations to come |
